St. JOSEPH DAMASCENE ORTHODOX CHURCH NEW WESTMINSTER, BC

Development of a new church for the Antioch Orthodox Christian Community in Queensborough, New Westminster.

The church sits atop a parish hall and church offices and is accessed by a monumental ramp. The design blends modernism with Traditional Byzantine elements.

This project includes expansion of the church lobby, development of its Sunday school, addition of a cafeteria on the main floor, a chapel on the second floor, and church offices in the basement.

The objectives are bringing this 1980s popular community landmark into the 21st century, providing stronger connection with the neighborhood and better street exposure while maintaining its original character.

AL KAWTHAR CULTURAL CENTRE, SURREY, BC

This 20,000 sq. ft. centre serves the local Shia Muslim Community. It houses an adult learning centre with lecture halls, a library, a cafeteria, a child daycare centre, and a two-level mosque. The design blends traditional Islamic architecture with courtyard design, and modern industrialized panel technology.  The project is due for completion in 2020
